Walking in Brockwell Park the other day, I saw boys and girls returning home from prep school. The boys were in shorts and sensible shoes. The girls were in summer dresses.
Why do schoolgirls still have to wear ridiculous garments? If summer dresses were so great, the boys would be in them too. Most schools are co-ed. But their uniforms still segregate children into boys (useful beings who love running around and doing things) and girls (nice creatures, who like sitting down and drawing pretty pictures). Imagine if schools gave one set of clothes to white pupils and another to black pupils. There would be uproar.
Let’s have UNIFORMS, not biforms.
